The Science of Wet Abrasive Blasting At MP BLAST, we do not just use dry sandblasting methods. We also have a state-of-the-art fluidised wet blasting system to deliver superior, environmentally responsible surface preparation.
What is Wet Abrasive Blasting? By combining compressed air, water, and specialised eco-friendly media, our system encapsulates dust particles in water droplets. This suppresses 92% to 95% of airborne dust, making it significantly safer for operators, neighbours, and other trades working on-site. It is a neighbourly choice that often eliminates the need for expensive site containment.
Zero Heat Warping for Classic Cars Traditional dry sandblasting generates severe friction heat that can easily warp and ruin thin metal car panels. Our wet abrasive system creates an evaporative cooling effect at the impact zone, keeping the metal cool and guaranteeing warp-free results for your restoration project.
Zero Chemicals & Eco-Friendly Media We pledge to use zero toxic chemicals or hazardous paint strippers, which are linked to severe health risks. We also strictly avoid using silica sand, which causes the occupational lung disease silicosis. Instead, we use safe, non-toxic media like mineral garnet, recycled crushed glass, and sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) to suit every specific job.
Our mobile rig carries up to 80 meters of blast hose, meaning our trailer stays out of your way while we work. From delicate automotive restoration to heavy-duty industrial rust removal, our technology ensures a squeaky-clean, contaminant-free surface ready for paint.
